Good news! Real estate taxes for homes are relatively low in Georgia, compared with many other areas. To estimate your real estate tax on a residential property, all Georgia uses the same basic formula; calculate 40% of the "fair market value" (usually lower than actual sale prices) and multiply that result by the millage rate in the particular county.
